[Chez Matthieu] New comment on Nanotechnologies (suite).

Matthieu has left a new comment on your post "Nanotechnologies (suite)":

Hi ! I won't hide that I am glad to see a non french-writing commentator here. But still you can read french ? Anyway, I don't get your point. What about a chemistry college student, perfectly able to create toxic products or explosives ? What about a biology grad student who can manipulate nice things like anthrax ? And if he does his PhD in genetics, he may be perfectly able to design a new kind of toxic bacilla. No need to be a genius awarded by Westinghouse. And for the availability, chemical products and ADN sequence are readily available on Internet. May I also point out that I can't see what dangerous piece of nanotechnology can be produced by an STM ? Scientists throughout the world manage to do only terrible things like writing the name of their university or designing a pattern on the surface. No nanobots, this is fantasy. For chemistry and biology, on the other hand, no need for too much imagination. And, last but not least, do you really think that it is harder for police to keep an eye on someone who buys AFM parts on internet, rather than on someone who is doing chemistry at home ? Once again, I repeat, there are some real concerns about nanotech... no need to add fantasy ones.
