[Chez Matthieu] New comment on Nanotechnologies (suite).

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Nanotechnologies (suite)":

Matthieu, my simple concern about this technology is that it is completely uncontrollable. Admittedly one can see many wonderfully life-enhancing uses for nanotech, but, unlike many of the tech revolutions of the past there can be no real way of stopping or even monitoring nanotech being used in a malicous way. You, I or anyone so willed could and can start making nantech based tools and weapons in you garage or shed tomorrow. If you don't believe me try googling "Westinghouse Award" ca 2000 - a 15 year child constructed his own scanning tunnelling electroscope using LEGO and parts bought from Ebay. An STM can accurately manipulate structures at the atomic level and once that is possible there is no end to what can be acheived.
